Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Tongits.io ("we", "us", or "our") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Tongits.io website and game (the "Service"). By using the Service you also agree to our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: when you register, your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password.
  • Gameplay and engagement data: how you play, such as games and hands played, wins and losses, streaks, fictitious Zili inventory and activity, missions, referrals, and similar activity.
  • Technical data: basic information your browser sends, such as device and browser type and approximate region, used to run and improve the Service.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Run the game, keep your progress, streaks, and Zili inventory, and secure your account.
  • Track player engagement and activity as our own analytics, so we can understand how the game is used and make better product and design decisions.
  • Prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Send you the newsletter, if you opted in (see Marketing below).

3. Cookies and local storage

To keep the game working, we store a small amount of functional data in your browser's local storage, such as a session identifier, your display name, your login token, and preferences. This stays on your device and is not a cookie.

We use Google Analytics to measure overall usage. We run it in a cookieless mode, so it does not set cookies or store a persistent identifier on your device. It collects aggregate, non-identifying usage information.

Advertising is the exception. When ads are shown, our advertising partner sets cookies and similar identifiers on your device. Section 4 explains what that involves and the choices you have.

4. Advertising

Tongits.io is free to play and may show ads. When ads are shown, they are supplied by Google AdSense, and Google and its partners set cookies and similar identifiers on your device. These are used to show ads, measure how they perform, and limit how often you see the same one.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we will not set an advertising identifier without asking you first, through a consent management platform certified by Google. You will be able to consent, refuse, or make a detailed choice, and refusing will be as easy as agreeing. You can change your answer at any time from the privacy settings link in that window.

Elsewhere, ads may be personalized using information Google already holds about you. You can review and change that at any time in Google My Ad Center.

We do not give advertisers your email address, your account details, or your gameplay records.

5. Marketing and the newsletter

The newsletter is optional. We only email you marketing or news if you choose to opt in during sign-up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by contacting us. Opting out of the newsletter does not affect essential account emails (such as email verification).

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it with service providers that help us run the Service (for example, hosting, email delivery, and analytics), and when required by law. Your public display name and game results may be visible to other players and on leaderboards.

Advertising works differently, and section 4 covers it. When personalized ads are shown, an advertising identifier is made available to Google, which some privacy laws treat as sharing for advertising purposes rather than as a sale. We never attach your email address, account details, or gameplay records to it.

7. Data retention and security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to run the Service, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

8. Your choices

You may update your display name, opt out of the newsletter, or ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us. Some information may be retained where required for legal or anti-abuse reasons.

Where we ask for advertising consent, you can change or withdraw it at any time from the privacy settings link in the consent window, and Google My Ad Center lets you adjust ad personalization wherever you are.

9. Children

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above. Your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated policy.
